Égale Action and Canadian Women & Sport: CONVERSATION 2021

Loading Events

The Conversations – Women and Sport are the initiative of three women who are dedicated and passionate about the cause of girls and women in sport and physical activity: Penny Werthner, Marion Lay and E-Alliance Co-director Guylaine Demers.

Following the success of 2015, they have come back together for Conversation 2021 with the goal of providing a space for leaders in the sport system to exchange and create ideas focused on immediate and lasting changes for women in sport.

The 2021 conference will take place in two stages. First, there will be a Quebec day TUESDAY, JUNE 8. During this day, we will work together to translate the recommendations of the Quebec working group on Girls-Women in sport, outdoors and physical activity into action plans we can use in our respective work environment. The Quebec Day will be entirely in French and will have a different content from Conversation 2021 days which will take place on June 10 and 11. If you want to register for both sections of the conference, you will have access to two different experiences. This is why we are offering you a reduced price if you wish to register for the entire conference, i.e. QUEBEC DAY AND CONVERSATION 2021 DAYS.

E-Alliance Co-Directors Ann Pegoraro and Gretchen Kerr will be presenting: Using Data To Develop A More Inclusive Sport System.

Before you start any change initiative or initiate a new program, you need to know where your organization is today, what existing evidence is out there to inform your decision making and how to design a program that can be evaluated. This session, led by two of the co-directors of E-Alliance, the National Research Hub for Gender Equity in Sport, will de-mystify the research process and how your organization can incorporate research to build more inclusive, welcoming and safe sport. The session will also provide an overview of E-Alliance, its position within the Canadian Sport System and how we work with sport organizations.
